The Winnipeg Jets only have two games during week 14 of the NHL regular season as they prepare to play both the Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators. With Blake Wheeler and company playing two big games during the week, there will be plenty of opportunities to engage in hockey betting online.

Latest Winnipeg Jets News

The Winnipeg Jets will still be missing the services of Blake Wheeler during week 14 of the campaign, as the right winger was placed on the long-term injured reserve in December with a knee injury. He hasn’t played since the Jets’ loss to the Vancouver Canucks on December 10th and isn’t expected to feature at all during the week.

Centerman David Gustafsson could also miss some time during the week, as he is dealing with a lower-body injury that he picked up against the Vegas Golden Knights on January 2nd. The injury isn’t thought to be too serious though, so don’t be shocked if he is able to play at some point during the week.

Week 14 Winnipeg Jets Preview

It is a light week for the Winnipeg Jets who only have two games on the schedule in week 14 of the regular season, but they will be looking to pick up the maximum of four points as they continue to battle for a playoff spot. The Jets will need to be at their best on most nights if they are going to qualify for the postseason and have an opportunity to build momentum in two very winnable games.

Winnipeg are still trying to find their identity as a team under interim head coach Dave Lowry, who replaced Paul Maurice after he decided to resign from the role. Maurice had been head coach since January 2014 and left because he felt the team needed a new voice in the locker room. While Lowry was still a familiar face to the players considering he was Maurice’s assistant, it was still something new.

Winnipeg haven’t necessarily adjusted to all the changes Lowry has been looking to implement just yet and it’ll be interesting to see how the team continues to progress as the season goes on. Anything less than consecutive wins for the Jets in week 14 will be seen as a failure, but it won’t necessarily be as easy as many may think either.

Winnipeg Jets at Detroit Red Wings Picks

The Winnipeg Jets visit the Detroit Red Wings after being off for an entire week. While Detroit still have their issues, they have been very good on home ice this season and will make life difficult for the Jets on Thursday evening. It should be a close contest, but take the home team to ultimately prevail with the two points.

Ottawa Senators at Winnipeg Jets Picks

The Ottawa Senators travel to Winnipeg to play their Canadian rivals the Jets on Saturday night. The Senators have been one of the worst teams in the league this season and this game could be over before it even starts. Take the Jets to win by multiple goals, with the over also looking like a lock.
