Nuovo Bentegodi – Serie A
Juventus are looking to stretch their lead at the top of Serie A against a Verona side that has performed above expectations thus far. Inter are still in the hunt for the Scudetto, so Juve still can’t afford to drop too many points.
Maurizio Sarri’s side edged past Verona at home earlier this season, with a 2-1 win in Turin, and they have won their last three games against Ivan Juric’s team.
Verona will be without attacking midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, after he picked up a straight red card in last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Milan.
Juventus’ only fresh concern is over full back Danilo, with the Brazilian set for a late fitness test on a knee injury.
Verona vs. Juventus Preview and Predictions
Verona have been relatively solid in recent weeks, with an unbeaten run of six games in Serie A action ahead of this tie.
Their home form has been particularly impressive of late also, with four wins from their last six games at the Nuovo Bentegodi.
Juventus took advantage of three draws for Inter Milan to leapfrog former boss Antonio Conte into top spot a fortnight ago.
Sarri’s side are now in the driving seat to defence their league title, with six wins form their last seven games in league and cup action.
Despite having a few issues securing three points against Verona earlier in the campaign, Juventus looking to be into their stride now, and an away win comes in at 1.52.
Juventus have also rediscovered their goal scoring touch in recent weeks, with 19 goals in their seven game run.
With that in mind they should be a real goal threat in this game, and a Juventus win and over 2.5 goals scored is available at 2.3.
Juventus to win 2-1 at 8.75
Juventus have the edge in the title race, and it looks difficult for Inter or Lazio to wrestle it away from them, as they look to pick up another key win.
Cristiano Ronaldo to score first at 2.25
A huge part of Juventus’ ruthless recent run has been the return to form of Cristiano Ronaldo, with ten goals in his last six games, and 19 in 19 Serie A games so far this season.
