Udinese vs. Inter Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
30 January 2020
Sunday 2 February
Dacia Arena – Serie A
Udinese have had a huge setback after a great start to the year and are trying to avoid a fourth consecutive loss when contenders Inter come to the Dacia Arena. The Friuli are not arriving to this game with a good feeling as Inter will continue to put pressure on Juventus at the top of the standings.
Inter are currently on a great run against Udinese and are unbeaten in their last 12 games. The reverse fixture at San Siro ended in a 1-0 win for the Nerazzurri, as Stefano Sensi’s only goal right before half time decided the match for the home side. Inter have also kept four consecutive clean sheets against Udinese, who arrice after another match without scoring last weekend and Inter could build on their current head to head on 29-11-14 in their last 54 meetings.
Udinese have Samir out injured and he is not expected back until March. Elsewhere, Luca Gotti should have a full squad and could prepare to play his best XI against the Nerazzurri this weekend.
Lautaro Martinez received a two-match ban after his red card against Cagliari and will miss out on this and the Derby against Milan on February 9. But, Christian Eriksen has arrived and set new fire to Inter, who must cope without Marcelo Brozovic also this weekend. Roberto Gagliardini and Kwadwo Asamoah are also out.
Udinese vs. Inter Preview and Predictions
After coming into 2020 on hot form, Udinese have arguably revealed it was only a fluke that was never going to last and lost their third match in a row against Parma last weekend. They have played big teams like Juventus and Milan, but are up against another big fish this weekend and might be go hiding again when Antonio Conte’s men are looking to continue their battle for the title.
Last weekend, Cagliari brought one point back from San Siro and the match ended in a controversial sending off for Lautaro, who will be out of the match against Udinese on Sunday. The away side may still be backed at 1.71 to win and the Friuli are at 5.40 to win one point against the title contenders.
Inter can’t afford to slip up again, as they have played 1-1 in their two last league games and Conte can’t complain about the players at his disposal anymore. The board has done what they can to please him and Christian Eriksen was the latest to arrive this week. They have picked up Victor Moses and Ashley Young, adding to Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez from the summer, when the new coach has gone full Premier League on the Italian game.
When Inter have arguably been crumbling under the pressure of the Old Lady, as the Nerazzurri were tipped to push Juventus all the way until the end. Lazio are also putting them under pressure, only two points behind and with one game in hand and could leapfrog Conte’s side with a win in that game.
Inter need to get back on form and Christian Eriksen could be introduced in his first game in the starting line-up this weekend, as the crowd all over Italy have great expectations to the former Spurs player.
Romelu Lukaku will have to keep up his great form and will most likely be partnered by Alexis Sanchez in Lautaro’s absence.
Total amount of goals Over 3.5 at 3.35
Inter will have to make a statement against Udinese on Sunday and will have to bring all their fire-power to help convince their faithful. The away side have been struggling to find the net during their last two League games and will be hoping to see some magic from the previous Premier League stars against a broken Friuli.
Inter to win against nil at 2.70
Udinese didn’t manage to score against Parma last time and haven’t scored in four games against Inter. The home side’s four forwards are on a combined total of 9 goals so far in Serie A and might struggle to break down a Nerazzurri side expected to get away with the three points.
