Arsenal head to Sheffield United for an FA Cup quarter-final clash, looking to put their poor restart to the Premier League season out of their minds. The Blades meanwhile will relish the chance to reach the last four of the cup.

Past Meetings

Sheffield United are unbeaten against Arsenal in their top-flight return this season, with a 1-0 win at home and a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Martinelli put Arsenal in front in that 1-1 draw in January but John Fleck grabbed a late equaliser, while October’s meeting was settled by a Lys Mousset goal.

Team News

The Blades will be boosted by the return of defender John Egan following a one game ban, with Dean Henderson also back after being ineligible for their clash with Manchester United.

Jack O’Connell and David McGoldrick both face late tests but could be rested in favour of Premier League action.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is without a host of first team players, with David Luiz suspended and Granit Xhaka, Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, Cedric Soares, Sokratis, Calum Chambers and Pablo Mari all out.

Sheffield United vs. Arsenal Preview and Predictions

Sheffield Untied have struggled on their return to Premier League action, with a 0-0 draw at Aston Villa and a 3-0 defeat at Newcastle.

The Blades have been solid in FA Cup action this season, with wins over AFC Fylde, Millwall and Reading, but the visit of Arsenal is their first Premier League opponent in the competition in 2019-20.

The Gunners have been even worse on their return to action, with back to back defeats against Manchester City and Brighton so far.

They have had a tougher run to the last eight of the FA Cup with victories against Leeds United, Bournemouth and Portsmouth.

With neither side going into this game on the back of a poor run of form it is difficult to gauge how this one will go, but United have the edge on Arsenal this season, and they are at 2.55.

Games between these two side have been tight in 2019-20, and with Chris Wilder’s side without a goal since the season restart, and Arsenal scoring just one, this should a low scorer.

With that in mind, a under 2.5 total goals scored bet comes in at 2.05.

Recommended Bets

Sheffield United to win 1-0 at 9.50

Despite being in the middle of a Europa League push, Wilder would love a chance to secure a major trophy on his first Premier League season and will field a strong side in this clash.

Billy Sharp to score first at 6.0

Sharp scored United’s last goal prior to the Premier League’s suspension in March, and the veteran forward scored their winning goal in the fifth round win at Reading.
