Real Madrid vs. Sevilla Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
25 November 2021
Santiago Bernabéu – La Liga
It’s first against third this weekend in La Liga as Real Madrid welcome Sevilla to the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday night. There’s sure to be a lot of interest in the football betting online for this game given the huge implications it could have on the title race.
Madrid are unbeaten in their last five games against Sevilla, winning four. However, Los Blancos needed a 94th-minute equaliser from Eden Hazard to salvage a 2-2 draw at home to Sevilla last season. Los Nervionenses last beat Real in September 2018, courtesy of a 3-0 victory on home soil, while they haven’t won away to Madrid since a thrilling 4-3 triumph at the Bernabéu in December 2008.
There’s no chance of Hazard rescuing Real Madrid again this weekend, with the Belgian currently spending more time on the sidelines. Likewise Gareth Bale, with Carlo Ancelotti also unable to call upon the services of Federico Valverde and Dani Ceballos.
Visiting coach Julen Lopetegui could be without three players as he returns to the club he was briefly in charge of in 2018. Suso is still struggling with a hamstring injury, while Jesus Navas and Youssef En-Nesyri are further doubts for Los Rojiblancos.
Real Madrid vs. Sevilla Preview and Predictions
Real Madrid are looking to seize control of La Liga’s title race as we hurtle towards the winter break. Los Blancos are top of the pile heading into this weekend’s fixtures, with Sevilla next up for Ancelotti’s side at the Bernabéu.
Los Blancos are two points clear of their visitors on Sunday, with local rivals and defending champions Atlético Madrid another two points further back. Barcelona, meanwhile, are toiling down in seventh some 10 points behind Madrid.
Real thrashed Granada 4-1 away from home last week to go five unbeaten in La Liga, winning four. Each member of the current top four has only lost once so far this term, but Madrid have won nine of their 13 matches and have a solid record against Sevilla over the last few campaigns.
That helps the home team start as the 1.71 favourites in the betting, with the draw looking like the next likeliest result at 4.05. Sevilla have made a strong start to the season though, with Los Nervionenses priced at 4.55 coming into this game.
Lopetegui’s side are unbeaten in six in the league, winning four, with their only loss so far coming away to Granada at the start of last month. There’s little to choose between the two teams this weekend, but it would still be a real shock if Sevilla come away with their first win at the Bernabéu in nearly 13 years.
Real Madrid to win and BTTS at 3.60
A Madrid win to nil has shorter odds of 3.00, but we’re backing the visitors to get themselves on the scoresheet following an impressive start to the season, and given the fact their hosts have conceded more than a goal a game so far this term.
Real Madrid to win 2-1 at 9.25
Los Blancos have scored exactly two goals in each of their last three home games against Sevilla, winning two of those.
