Real Madrid vs. Real Sociedad Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
Real Madrid aim to keep pace with Barcelona this weekend, but face the visit of the high-flying Real Sociedad. The Basques would love to cause an upset in the capital.
Real Sociedad easy dispatched Madrid when the sides met last season, despite Brahim Diaz getting the opening goal after just six minutes. An equaliser from Mikel Merino was followed by a red card to Jesus Vallejo, before Imanol Alguacil’s side added two more goals.
Marco Asensio remains sidelined, whilst Gareth Bale’s status remains uncertain with the player firmly out of favour. Zinedine Zidane may be able to welcome James Rodriguez back to the starting XI with Rodrygo also pushing for a place.
Former Madrid midfeilder Asier Illarramendi remains out following an injury to his fibia, although is nearing a return. La Real are hoping that Martin Odegaard will make his own return against his parent club, having missed three matches.
Real Madrid v Real Sociedad Preview and Predictions
Just two points seperate Real Madrid and Real Sociedad as the two sides meet on Saturday. The La Liga table is interestingly poised with just five points between first place and ninth, although Zinedine Zidane’s side have picked up their form in recent weeks.
Despite having gone three games unbeaten, this weekend’s game will be no walk in the park for the home side, as Sociedad have already beaten the other Madrid side this season, and are in good form themselves. Los Blancos must certianly be regretting their decision to allow Martin Odegaard to join La Real on loan, as the former wonder kid has been amoungst the best players in the league this season.
A creative trio of the Norwiegan, Mikel Oyarzabayal and Portu has had no trouble unlocking teams this season, whilst Willian Jose has already notched five La Liga goals. It will be interesting to see how Real Madrid’s defence, that has looked suspect all season, cope with so many prolific attackers. The visitors are 7.50 for the win, with Madrid at 1.40 and the draw 5.30.
Of course, Zidane’s side are no slouches when it comes to forward play, and the rest of the league will be concerned to see Eden Hazard’s return to form. The Belgian, along with Luka Jovic, were signed to replace Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals, and despite struggling with injuries in the early season, have both got off the mark in recent weeks.
With strong attacks and less than convincing defences, spectators should be in for an intersting game on Saturday.
Karim Benzema to score anytime at 1.58
Rarely the star, Benzema always seems to pop up with a goal at the right time for Madrid, and will be needed on Saturday.
Both teams to score at 1.60
Real may have only conceeded nine in the league compred to Sociedad’s 14, but will be facing an impressive front line.
