Real Madrid vs. Osasuna Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
22 October 2021
Estadio Bernabeu – La Liga
Real Madrid look to maintain their good start in La Liga midweek as they welcome Osasuna to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The visitors have made a suprisingly strong start to the season but are 1.25 to lose on Wednesday according to Spin Sports football betting online.
Madrid won 2-0 in a dominating performance when the sides met last season with goals from Eder Militão and Casemiro. Osasuna haven’t beaten Madrid since 2011.
Dani Carvajal and Eden Hazard could be set to make a return for Real Madrid and may both be handed a start by Carlo Ancelotti. Luka Jovic and Isco are both injury doubts but may be fit to feature on the bench whilst Dani Ceballos and Gareth Bale are out for the long-term.
Jonas Romalho could return for Jagoba Arrasate’s side with the manager likely to stick with the five-man defence that earned Osasuna a win against Villareal. Aridane Hernandez, Ante Buimir and Kike Garcia are all expected to feature in the squad after spells out with injury but may not be fit to start from the offset.
Real Madrid vs. Osasuna Preview and Predictions
Real Madrid and Osasuna face off on Wedensday with the two teams level on points ahead of the weekend fixtures. Carlo Ancelotti’s side have a game in hand but are in poor form with just one win in their last four games in all competitions.
Jagoba Arrasate has done a phenominal job with Osasuna and is one of the longest serving managers in La Liga. Los Rojillos are currently fifth in the league table and boast the best form over the past three games with nine points to the name.
Admittedly, Osasuna’s start to the season has been relatively easy with predominantly mid or lower table opposition. In fact, Arrasate’s side have won just one of their three games against teams in the top half of the table which does not bode well for Wednesday’s trip to Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have been inconsistent this season putting five goals past Shaktar Donestsk in the Champions League the game after losing to Sheriff FC. Ancelotti’s side preceed the game against Osasuna with the first edition of El Classico which could see the manager rotate his side for Wednesday’s fixture.
With a number of senior players returning from injury, the hosts should have a strong enough squad to overcome their visitors. However, given their vulnerability on the counter-attack, Arrasate’s resolute defence could provide the platform for a shock win.
Osasuna to win at 7.25
Real Madrid have been inconsistent at times and could be vulnerable against a strong Osasuna .
Over 2.5 goals scored at 1.62
Just one of Osasuna’s last five games have ended with fewer than three goals scored.
