Parma vs. Milan Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
07 April 2021
Saturday 10 April
Stadio Ennio Tardini - Serie A
Parma go in search of their first victory over AC Milan in more than seven years, when the clubs face off at Il Tardini in this weekend’s Serie A schedule. Nothing but a win will do for the visitors, as we preview the online betting football odds for this key fixture.
Milan are unbeaten in their last seven games against Parma, winning five and drawing two. One of those draws was at the San Siro earlier this season, while the Rossoneri beat the Crociati home and away last term. Parma’s last victory over Milan was back in March 2014, although AC exacted their revenge for that defeat six months later courtesy of a breathless 5-4 triumph at Il Tardini.
Parma coach and former Milan youth player Roberto D’Aversa is sweating on the fitness of a clutch of his players ahead of this game. Roberto Inglese, Simone Iacoponi and Lautaro Valenti all face late fitness tests, while Simon Sohm, Yann Karamoh and Joshua Zirkzee are all expected to miss out.
Visiting boss Stefano Pioli is hoping to have Mario Mandzukic available, with the Croatian forward only managing four appearances since arriving at the San Siro in January. His presence would be welcome in the face of Rafael Leao’s absence, with Brahim Díaz, Alessio Romagnoli and Davide Calabria also missing for Milan.
Parma vs. Milan Preview and Predictions
They aren’t willing to accept it themselves, but it’s been clear for some time that Milan have run out of steam. Epitomised by top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s single goal from his last eight appearances following such a blistering start to the campaign, the Rossoneri are desperate for a win against Parma this weekend.
Milan dropped two more points to local rivals and Serie A leaders Inter last weekend, requiring an 87th-minute strike from Norwegian youngster Jens Petter Hauge to salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Sampdoria.
The Rossoneri have only won one of their last five matches, a run which has seen them crash out of the Europa League against Manchester United. Pioli’s side have only won three of their last Serie A fixtures, losing three.
However you dress that up, it’s not title-winning form, and with Inter making up their game in hand against Sassuolo on Wednesday, Milan look set to start this game 11 points behind the Nerazzurri with only nine matches remaining.
This is a must-win for the visitors, and they are 1.71 to keep up their good run against Parma by beating the Gialloblu on their own turf. The Crociati are 5.25 for the win, while you can back the draw on Saturday at 3.80.
A point would be solid for Parma, although their predicament means three could prove invaluable. D’Aversa’s side are second from bottom and four points behind 17th-placed Torino, following only one win in their last 20 Serie A fixtures.
Score draw at 4.75
Parma have drawn eight of their last 20 matches, with the five most recent of those seeing both teams score. Milan, meanwhile, have draw five of their last 11 games in all competitions.
2-2 draw at 13.00
Three of Parma’s last seven Serie A fixtures have finished 2-2, while this was the scoreline when these teams met at the San Siro in December.
