Carrow Road - Premier League
The next team to try and stop Liverpool in their quest for an unbeaten title-winning season is the Premier League’s bottom club, Norwich City. The Canaries are seven points from safety, and there’s little hope of them narrowing that gap this weekend.
Liverpool scored all of their goals in the first half as they beat Norwich 4-1 at Anfield on the opening day of the season. That was the first time the teams had met since January 2016, when Adam Lallana clinched a dramatic 5-4 victory for the Reds in the 95th minute of a Premier League fixture at Carrow Road.
Ben Godfrey returns from suspension for the hosts, after missing the Canaries’ last three games following a red card against Bournemouth in January. That leaves Timm Klose as the only absentee for Daniel Farke’s side, as he continues to recover from a serious knee injury.
Jurgen Klopp and his first-team squad should be suitably refreshed after missing their FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury Town in favour of keeping their full winter break. Sadio Mane is expected to be fit, while Xherdan Shaqiri and James Milner - who helped from the sidelines against Shrewsbury - are slight doubts.
Norwich vs. Liverpool Preview and Predictions
This is a fixture which has seen plenty of goals in recent years, and with Liverpool in rampant form this season, we could be in for another high-scoring affair. Norwich City are in need of some fresh impetus, which they will hope they can gain following the Premier League’s winter break.
The Canaries are sliding towards relegation, having only won one of their last 12 league games. With a tough run of fixtures coming up, things look set to get even bleaker for the Carrow Road faithful.
Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 13 matches against Norwich, a run which stretches back to 1994. The Reds have won 11 of those meetings, scoring 30 goals in the last seven. With 24 victories from 25 Premier League fixtures so far this term, the away win looks a near certainty this weekend.
Liverpool are cantering towards their first league title in 30 years, and they are the heavy favourites to pick up another three points towards what’s set to be a massive tally this weekend. The visitors are 1.29 for the win, while Norwich are 9.75 and the draw is 6.00.
Liverpool to win and BTTS at 2.50
The Reds may have only conceded 15 goals this season, but Norwich have scored in all but one of their 12 home games in the Premier League - including three against Manchester City.
Liverpool to win and over 3.5 goals at 2.55
Klopp’s side have a great record against the Canaries and hit four in the first meeting between the teams this season.
