Manchester United vs. Norwich City Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews

Can inconsistent Man Utd pick up more points when they welcome relegation-threatened Norwich to Old Trafford? Norwich have picked up some scalps this season, and United struggled badly in midweek.

Past Meetings

United emerged 3-1 winners the last time the two sides met in October. Prior to that, Norwich’s last win over United came in December 2015, when they triumphed 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Team News

Manchester United have no new injury worries. Paul Pogba is still unavailable through an ankle injury. Meanwhile Fred, right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and left-back Brandon Williams are all one booking away from serving a suspension for accumulating 5 yellow cards.

The visitors meanwhile have four players on the verge of picking up a suspension in their next game. Kenny McLean, Sam Bryam, Alexander Tettey and Marco Stiepermann are all one booking away from collecting five yellow cards. The Canaries have no fresh injury worries.

Manchester United vs. Norwich Preview and Predictions

The home side have displayed maddening inconsistency this season. Sparkling one minute, subdued the next, it’s difficult to know what to expect from one game to the next. The Red Devils have only won once in their last four games, but are 1.30 for the points here.

The two teams go into the game in contrasting form, however. Norwich haven’t lost in their last three, drawing with Tottenham and Crystal Palace and beating Preston at Deepdale in the FA Cup. They might even feel aggrieved not to have taken three points from Spurs, who only levelled through a late Harry Kane penalty, while Palace also needed a late equaliser to deny Norwich the victory. Another draw is 5.50.

United meanwhile haven’t won in three, losing to Arsenal in the league, drawing with Wolves in the FA Cup and going down 3-1 at home to Manchester City in the first leg of their Manchester derby EFL Cup semi-final. Where Norwich are seven points adrift at the bottom of the table, United have fallen five short of the Champions League.

Norwich will find it tough regardless of what form Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are in. Norwich have struggled all season to score goals, with 22 the third-worst in the division. Top scorer Teemu Pukki hasn’t scored in nearly a month, and needs a goal. They’re 10.25 for the victory, with even the draw at 5.50.

Recommended Bets

Norwich double chance at 3.55

The Canaries have a habit of drawing games lately, particularly by conceding late goals, and we know they’ll go to Old Trafford to attack. It wouldn’t be that shocking to see United need a late equaliser.

Under 2.5 goals at 2.45

The home side may win, but goals won’t be flying in at Old Trafford, expect a low-scoring game to play out.
