Manchester United vs Brighton Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
08 November 2019
Sunday 10 November
Old Trafford – Premier League
After losing to Bournemouth last weekend, Manchester United will want to make amends with a tough challenge against Brighton at home. The Seagulls are on a bit of a run, and have won three from their last five games while United are struggling to juggle both domestic and European commitments.
The last four encounters between these sides have been surprisingly even. Man Utd won the last meeting 2-1 at the beginning of this season, however Brighton won two consecutive games in May and August 2018, with United then winning in November 2017.
United still have a plethora of players out through injury, with Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic, Alex Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly, Diogo Dalot all still out. This leaves boss Ole Gunnar Soljskaer with a skeleton crew. Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have all recovered from knocks and are back in the squad.
The Seagulls have several players also out, Bernardo and Jose Izquierdo are still out whilst Adam Webster is absent due to an ankle injury sustained against Norwich City. Expect the same starting XI that won against Norwich last weekend.
Manchester United vs. Brighton Preview and Predictions
This is a tough match to call. Manchester’s form has been patchy over the last several weeks, with one solid performance usually cancelled out by a poor performance the next. However they haven’t lost at home to The Seagulls in the Premier League era. Will this record come to an end on Sunday? United are available at 1.58.
Brighton are in the better run of form, and have won three of their last four games, including beating Tottenham 3-0 at home. Brighton sit two places above The Red Devils in the Premier League table, however their away form is letting them down this season, with only one win on the road so far this season. They’re 6.50 to get a second here.
Both sides have also found it difficult to keep clean sheets, with Brighton having conceded as much as they’ve scored in the league season. A draw could be the best result, priced at 3.85.
A score draw at 4.75
A draw between these two teams seems the logical bet. And both sides have struggled to keep clean sheets this season. This game could feasibly end in a score draw.
Anthony Martial to score anytime at 2.25
The young Fenchman has had a mixed season thus far, some wonderful displays mixed with disappearing acts. Injury hasn’t helped his season, but he can be considered a good bet to bag a goal against Brighton.
