Leicester vs. Everton Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews

High-flying Leicester start the new moth welcoming a crumbling Everton side in need of three points to climb away from the relegation zone. The Toffees are dangerously close to the bottom three and need immediate change when they travel to the second-placed Foxes on Sunday.

Past Meetings

Leicester are in great form, but Everton might take confidence from their last meeting at the King Power, ending in a 2-1 win for the Toffees thanks to goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson. The last time the two teams met was at Goodison Park on Merseyside and ended in a 1-0 win for Leicester, but in their last five games their record read 2-0-3 with Everton having the upper hand on their rivals. A Jamie Vardy goal separated the two sides last season and the former England international is again on hot form leading up to this weeks match.

Team News

Matthew James has been out with an ankle injury and will most likely be missing for the home side, whilst defender Jonny Evans might also be out with an injury to his thigh. It looks like James Maddison shook of his complaints and is ready to play after getting injured on international duty with England.

Everton manager Marco Silva might be facing the sack anytime soon, but reports have claimed he gets to keep his job as the board of directors at the club can’t find an appropriate successor to his reign. And against Leicester he will be without Fabian Delph and Bernard this weekend. They are not expected to be back to feature against the top side, even though they are both back in training.

Andre Gomes received great support after getting injured against Tottenham earlier this month and he is most likely set to be out for the rest of the season, joining Cuco Martina on the list of long-term injuries.

Leicester vs. Everton Preview and Predictions

Leicester have developed into a top team under Brendan Rodgers and are continuing to impress with their high paced football and teams fear the Foxes ability to break down their opponents this season. They have won their six games, with last defeat coming to Liverpool in the start of October. They may be backed at 1.66 to win at home against Everton, who are desperately in need of points to pull clear from the relegation battle.

In stark contrast to Rodgers’ high-flying home side, Marco Silva’s men are coming to this game with mounting pressure and at the back of a gruesome performance against newly-promoted Norwich last round. Everton may be backed at 5.15 to win the game, with a draw at 4.10 this Sunday.

Everton lost 2-0 at home and continued a turbulent period in the Premier League season. After a run of four consecutive defeats, they bounced back against West Ham on October 19, but have been very inconsistent ever since. Including the 2-0 win over the Hammers, they have a record of 2-1-2 in their last five league games and are heading to King Power Stadium on the back of their first away win in the Premier League this season at St Mary’s against struggling Southampton.

Before the game at St Mary’s, Everton had gone eight away games in the Premier League without securing a win, stretching all the way back to last season and another win over West Ham in March this year. The fixture list is clamping up and the toughness of the matches couldn’t be worse for the Merseysiders.

Their captain Seamus Coleman has encouraged Everton to bounce back and look to the good results against the Premier League giants last season, but the match on Sunday is the start of a run against teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Recommended Bets

Leicester to win to nil at 2.70

Leicester are proving hard to break down under Brendan Rodgers and have four straight games without conceding in the Premier League, their last match without a clean sheet was during the 2-1 win over Burnley on Ocotber 19. Kasper Schmeichel is an ever present in the Foxes’ squad, who have managed to move on in impressive fashon after losing Harry Maguire last summer, but it may be interrupted by an injury to Jonny Evans.

Leicester to score Over 1.5 goals at 1.74

Jamie Vardy is the leading goal scorer in the Premier League having hit 12 goals in 13 games this season and Leicester never seem to stop at only one goal. They have scored two goals in their three last league games and nine in the one before that. Since the goalless draw against Wolves on the first weekend of the season, Leicester have only scored less than two goals against Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United in the League this term.
