Koln vs. Bayern Munich Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
14 February 2020
Sunday 16 February
Opel Arena – Bundesliga
Relegation-threatened Koln host Bayern Munich as the home side desperately search for points in order to stay clear of the relegation zone. They’re currently six points clear of the drop, while Bayern are a point ahead of the chasing pack at the top of the table.
Bayern were rampant in their first meeting earlier in the season, winning 4-0 at home in September. Robert Lewandowski scored twice while Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic were also on the score sheet, and Kingsley Ehizibue was sent off for Koln.
Koln have no fresh injury concerns headingo into the fixture. The struggling side do have Simon Terodde, Dominick Drexler, Jhon Cordoba and Sebastiaan Bornauw are all one yellow card away from suspension.
Bayern meanwhile are without Ivan Perisic for the next month. Jerome Boateng, Robert Lewandowski and Benjamin Pavard are all one yellow card away from suspension.
Bkoln vs. Bayern Munich Preview and Predictions
Bayern Munich drew in their last match against RB Leipzig, however the German champions won their previous six consecutive games, re-entering the title race. Expect to make it seven wins from eight, with the away win available at 1.22.
That’s despite Koln showing some good form recently – they’ve won four of their last five league games, beating Eintracht Frankfurt away from home and seeing off Werder Bremen, Wolfsburg and Freiburg in front of their own fans. Their only defeat in that time was at Borussia Dortmund, a heavy 5-1 reverse. The home side are 12.25 for the points here, with the draw at 6.90.
Bayern, old hands at fighting for the title, know that RB Leipzig are primed should they slip up. The upstart club haven’t won any of their last three league games – losing once and drawing twice, including at Bayern – and are in danger of letting the holders run away with the title again. But they remain within touching distance, and all could change this weekend.
Bayern to win and both teams to score at 2.10
Both teams have scored in three of Koln’s last five games, and not since December 8’s 2-0 defeat at Union Berlin have Koln failed to score – so they should find the net even in defeat.
Over 3.5 goals at 1.71
Whilst there won’t be a repeat of the four goals that were scored in the first game of the season, Bayern will likely score several, as Koln tend to ship goals against the bigger sides in the Bundesliga.
