Juventus vs. Udinese Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews

Sunday 15 December
Allianz Stadium – Serie A
Maurizio Sarri has been left with something to prove after back-to-back setbacks for his Juventus side and Udinese might be the victim of their response. The away side have been stuck in the bottom half of Serie A this season, but look like they are starting their climb and another shock for the Old Lady would really pile the pressure on the home side in Serie A.
Juventus have won their last four games against Udinese, since they picked up a point in March 2017, when they secured their second point in 15 games against the Old Lady. The Friuli club lost 13 out of the last 15 and only beat Juventus eight times in 48 meetings with the reigning champions of Italy.
When they last met at Allianz Stadium in March this year, Moise Kean scored a double to help the home side win 4-1. Emre Can and Blaise Matuidi scored two more, before Kevin Lasagna pulled one back to console the guests a little.
Sarri will have to cope without suspended Miralem Pjanic and Juan Cuadrado as Juventus are also struggling to cope without Rodrigo Bentancur and Sami Khedira. It leaves him with few options in the midfield, hoping to have Adrien Rabiot ready to play. Aaron Ramsey has also been struggling lately but should be ready to play this weekend. Douglas Costa could also be back from a hamstring injury and could be a needed boost for the coach.
Udinese lost centre-back Samir last weekend and might be without the defender also this weekend. He is out with a muscular problem, just like Mato Jajalo, who might be missing for the fourth match in a row. Luca Gotti took over a troubled team but has gotten them to improve a lot the last few weeks.
Juventus vs. Udinese Preview and Predictions
Juventus are trailing Inter in the League this season but before the loss to Lazio last weekend, they were unbeaten across all tournaments under Sarri. The only issue has been Inter, if not, they would have been in a comfortable lead already, but as the Nerazzurri keep on securing the points, the former Napoli coach is under big pressure.
They need to respond after only picking up one point in two games and the Friuli club would be hoping the anger won’t be taken out on them this weekend. Juventus may be backed at 1.25 to win the game, whilst Gotti’s men are at 14.00 to win their first over Juventus in Turin since their 1-0 success in August 2015 and 5.70 to hold the champions to a draw at their own turf.
Udinese sacked Igor Tudor last month and have turned their form around a tiny bit. They lost two matches in a row immediately after the last international break, but the latest two games have ended in four points for Udinese. They’ve got two matches left before the break, against Juventus and Cagliari and will be hoping to get something from them before Christmas.
It’s been suggested that Juventus are too focused on success in the Champions League, where they are through to the last 16, but coach Sarri said that he feels it’s “an obligation” to win the League when you are the coach at the Allianz Stadium and will be hoping the team starts to perform in a convincing way also ahead of the New Year.
Even if they were unbeaten until last weekend, there had been some small issues in their performances this term. The points were collected, but Juventus haven’t convinced as much as they’re expected to. And despite being the leading goal scorer on seven goals, Cristiano Ronaldo will have to find better form to keep pulling the Old Lady in the right direction.
Rumours about the relationship between him and Sarri’s relationship having turned sour are dying down a bit. But Sarri is accommodating his style according to Ronaldo and will need him to respond in the correct way also in the League – not just in Europe.
Juventus to score Over 2.5 goals at 2.05
Juventus have only scored three or more twice in Serie A this season, but they are in need of a statement and the odds are very tempting for it to be against Udinese who are fighting for their lives. The group seem united and ready to fight back from the current slump of form.
Juventus to win 3-0 at 7.50
The home side need a big statement and look to their biggest stars to get them a response over the next few weeks. A big win against Udinese might kick-start their season and help them back to the top in Serie A before Christmas. Inter seem to be tired and it would be perfect for Juventus to react immediately.
