Juventus vs. Roma Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
14 October 2021
Allianz Stadium – Serie A
Juventus and Roma face a tough return to Serie A duty following the international break, as the two teams lock horns at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night. With Max Allegri and José Mourinho on the sidelines, these mobile online betting predictions are set to be hotly contested.
Juventus won last season’s corresponding fixture 2-0, after the teams shared a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Olimpico earlier in the campaign. Roma were 3-1 winners in Turin the season before though, with both sides winning two of the last five Serie A meetings between the clubs.
Hosts Juve are set to be without at least two players for this game. Weston McKennie is out until early next month with a thigh injury, while Adrien Rabiot misses out due to Covid-19. Allegri is hoping to have Álvaro Morata back in the fold though after he missed the Nations League finals for Spain with a hamstring problem.
The visitors were dealt a blow in the dying embers of England’s game against Hungary on Tuesday, as in-form Tammy Abraham picked up an ankle injury after only coming on as a late substitute. He joins compatriot Chris Smalling on the treatment table, along with long-term absentee Leonardo Spinazzola.
Juventus vs. Roma Preview and Predictions
This match between Juventus and Roma really has the air of a huge clash. The home team hit their stride under the returning Allegri prior to the international window, and it remains to be seen whether the break proves detrimental to their form against Mourinho’s Giallorossi.
Juve won four games in a row just before the break, with three of those matches in Serie A and the other an impressive 1-0 victory over European champions Chelsea in the Champions League. The Old Lady are now unbeaten in six, having failed to win any of their opening three league fixtures, including two defeats.
Roma won all three of their opening Serie A matches, helping them come into this clash four points ahead of their hosts. La Lupa have lost two of their last four games though, both via 3-2 scorelines away to Verona and Lazio. The Giallorossi have a 100% record at home, but this is another tough test on the road.
Juventus start the game as the 1.90 favourites in the betting, while Roma are priced at 4.20. This could be a close encounter, with Mourinho the master of concocting stifling game plans and Allegri seemingly getting through to his players at last. As such, a draw may be of interest at 3.60.
Juventus to win and BTTS at 3.45
Both teams have scored in four of the last five meetings between these teams, while Juve are the favourites to take the win on home soil.
Juventus to win 3-2 at 17.00
