Juventus vs. Crotone Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
19 February 2021
Monday 22 February
Allianz Stadium - Serie A
Juventus will look to take out the frustration of their midweek defeat on a struggling Crotone side, as they return to Serie A duty on Monday night. The Old Lady lost 2-1 to Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday and were poor for the majority of that game, with Bianconeri coach Andrea Pirlo demanding a reaction against the league’s bottom club.
Juventus and Crotone have only ever met seven times. Juve won the first five of those - two of which were in Serie B during the 2006-07 season - without conceding a goal, but the last two meetings between the sides have both ended 1-1. The same result in this game is available at 15.00 in the online betting football odds for this fixture.
Giorgio Chiellini went off in the first half of Wednesday’s defeat to Porto with a calf injury that’s expected to keep him out for around a month. That’s a big miss for Juventus, especially as Leonardo Bonucci is also out for the next two or three weeks. Juan Cuadrado and Arthur are both out with muscle injuries, while Adrien Rabiot is suspended.
Crotone coach Giovanni Stroppa only has two injury concerns ahead of this tough trip to Turin. Giuseppe Cuomo and Salvatore Molina have both been ruled out for the visitors, who will look for a big performance from top-scoring Nigerian forward Simeon Nwankwo - whether it be from the start or off the bench.
Juventus vs. Crotone Preview and Predictions
Crotone are rooted to the bottom of the Serie A table, so the last thing they could do with is a trip to the home of the champions. Juventus may be performing well below the levels they’ve produced in recent seasons, but the Old Lady are a wounded beast after a couple of disappointing defeats.
The Bianconeri have lost back-to-back games against Napoli and Juventus, while they’re without a win in three going back to their goalless draw with Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia. That disappointing run has undone some of the good work Pirlo had done by guiding his team to an impressive six-match winning run.
That streak included big games against the likes of Inter, Napoli and Roma, so the recent slide has been something of a surprise. There ought to be no surprises in this game though, with Juve the 1.17 favourites for the win. Crotone are bottom of the league following 16 defeats in their opening 22 Serie A fixtures so far this term.
The Pythagoreans have lost their last four matches in a row, winning only three times all season. All of those victories have been on home soil, with the Rossoblu losing nine of their 11 games on the road. An away win here is incredibly unlikely at 17.00, while Crotone are 8.00 to head back to Calabria with an improbable point.
Juventus to win to nil at 1.55
Juve may be below par right now, but Crotone have never managed to score an away goal against the Turin giants, who will fully expect to win this game.
Juventus to win 3-0 at 6.50
The Old Lady have beaten Crotone 3-0 in each of their last two home games against the Rossoblu, making this scoreline one to look out for on Monday night.
