This weekend’s Serie A schedule throws up a fascinating encounter between Juventus and Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday. There’s sure to be a huge amount of interest in the mobile online betting for this game, given the huge implications for both the race for the Scudetto and the Champions League.

Past Meetings

This has been an even fixture over the last few seasons, with the six most recent Serie A meetings producing one win apiece and four draws. Juventus did beat Atalanta 2-1 in the Coppa Italia final in May though, while La Dea’s last win away to the Old Lady was all the way back in October 1989, when Claudio Caniggia scored the only goal of the game.

Team News

Juve coach Max Allegri is set to be without at least five players this weekend. Veteran centre-back Giorgio Chiellini is out with an Achilles injury, while Federico Bernardeschi, Danilo, Aaron Ramsey and Mattia De Sciglio are also sidelined for the Old Lady.

Visiting boss Gian Piero Gasperini has a cleaner bill of health ahead of this trip to Turin. Matteo Lovato could be the only player out for Atalanta, with Robin Gosens and Hans Hateboer potentially coming back into contention for this game.

Juventus vs. Atalanta Preview and Predictions

This is a massive fixture for both of these clubs. Atalanta head to Turin fourth in the Serie A table, seven points behind early pacesetters Napoli and Milan, who both lost their unbeaten records last weekend. Juventus, meanwhile, are another four points down the road in eighth.

The Bianconeri have recovered from a poor run that saw them go three Serie A matches without a win by recording back-to-back victories over Fiorentina and Lazio either side of the international break. Allegri is searching for consistency on his return to the Old Lady, especially in terms of defensive performances.

As such, a visit of the attacking and often free-scoring Nerazzurri is far from ideal for Juve this weekend. The Bianconeri need to go on a run if they’re to make inroads into their 11-point deficit from top spot, although this game does give them the chance to haul in Atalanta, with the home win priced at 2.15.

The visitors are 3.30 in the betting, as they bid to keep a top-four rival firmly in their wake. It’s been more than 22 years since La Dea beat Juventus away, but this isn’t a particularly strong Old Lady side and they will be vulnerable if Atalanta play to their potential. After six draws in the last nine league meetings between these clubs, another stalemate this weekend is 3.45.

Recommended Bets

Score draw at 4.15

All six of the stalemates between these teams in their last nine Serie A meetings were score draws, and this bet is certainly worth another look again here.

2-2 draw at 10.75

Four of those six draws ended 2-2, and we could be in for another goal-laden affair this weekend, with an over 3.5 goals bet priced at 2.65.
