Inter vs. Real Madrid Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews

San Siro – Champions League
Inter midfielder Nicolò Barella
These two clubs may be somewhat weakened right now, but this Champions League clash between Inter Milan and Real Madrid is still huge. It’s some way to kick off Group D of this competition, as we look to pick out some of the best online betting football tips for this fixture.
This pair of European giants were also drawn together in the Champions League group stage last season. Real Madrid won 3-2 at home before a 2-0 victory in Milan, as Los Blancos went through as group winners and Inter crashed out of Europe altogether in last place. Those were the first competitive meetings between the clubs since 1999, when both teams won at home in the groups.
New Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is only set to have one injury absentee for this game, providing all of his players come through Sunday’s trip to Sampdoria unscathed. Gabriel Brazão is currently sidelined with a knee injury, while Alexis Sánchez is expected to be fit.
The returned Carlo Ancelotti may have inherited an inferior squad to the one he enjoyed during his first spell at the Santiago Bernabéu, but it is at least a healthy one right now. Dani Ceballos is the only player currently on the treatment table, with injury-prone Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale both fit.
Inter vs. Real Madrid Preview and Predictions
Both Inter Milan and Real Madrid have endured difficult summers, but they’ve both shown signs of putting that behind them during the early weeks of the season. A victory for either club in this Champions League opener on Wednesday would be huge in their bid to secure safe passage out of the groups.
Serie A champions Inter were hoping to kick on this term but find themselves weakened by the loss of coach Antonio Conte, top scorer Romelu Lukaku and the impressive Achraf Hakimi. Even so, the Nerazzurri have made a strong start to their title defence and are continuing with a similar style of football under new boss Inzaghi.
Madrid look set for a rollercoaster campaign if their early-season fixtures are anything to go by. Ancelotti is a safe bet for good results, and his vastly superior experience in this competition compared to his opposite number could come into play at San Siro this week.
Despite that, Inter are the slight favourites in the betting, priced at 2.45 in the latest odds for this game. Real are 2.85 to get off to a winning start in a group which also contains Shakhtar Donetsk and Moldovan minnows Sheriff Tiraspol, with the draw available at 3.50.
Score draw at 4.90
These two teams look pretty evenly matched, but with some of the attacking talent on show, it’d be a surprise if the game ended goalless.
2-2 draw at 14.00
Both of these clubs were involved in some lively games in last season’s Champions League group, including Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Inter which was 10 minutes away from finishing 2-2.
