Gladbach vs. Bayern Munich Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
05 December 2019
Saturday December 7
Bundesliga – BORUSSIA-PARK
Bundesliga leaders Gladbach face defending champions Bayern Munich in early season showdown. Bayern are four points off the top, but are on a surge after changing coach.
Monchengladbach won 3-1 away in Munich last season, but Bayern got their revenge with a convincing 5-1 victory in the reverse fixture in March.
Marco Rose’s side do have a strong record against the Bavarians, with just three defeats in their last eight meetings.
Rose is likely to have a fully fit squad to pick from for Bayern’s visit, with defender Nico Elvedi set to return following an injury.
Bayern boss Hans-Dieter Flick has defender Jerome Boateng back following a three match suspension, and he should also have no fresh injury worries, with Thomas Muller and Ivan Perisic passed fit to play.
Gladbach vs. Bayern Munich Preview and Predictions
Monchengladbach have impressed so far this season, with just one Bundesliga defeat at home so far this season.
They head into this weekend’s clash on the back of four league wins in a row, with crucial wins over Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen.
Bayern have steadied under Flick, with four wins from their last five games in all competitions.
However they did slip to a 2-1 defeat at home to Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, despite dominating the majority of the game.
Monchengladbach in in really strong form, and time will tell if they can sustain it for the full Bundesliga season.
But the early signs look promising, and they should have enough to get something against the defending champions, with a draw priced at 3.3.
Despite their successes so far, Monchengladbach do leave themselves open at the back at times, and they have kept just one clean sheet in their last 12 games in all competitions.
With that in mind, Bayern will fancy themselves to get on the scoresheet, and a BTTS bet comes in at 1.46.
A 1-1 draw at 8.5
Despite appearing to be a bit of a long shot in this game, a draw looks fairly realistic this weekend. Monchengladbach have been brilliant at home so far this season, but given their poor defensive record, and Bayern being under pressure to catch them it could be a cracker.
Robert Lewandowski to score anytime at 1.40
Lewandowski has been in electric form for Bayern so far this season, with 27 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions, and he also netted twice against Monchengladbach last season.
