Selhurst Park – Premier League
Manchester City head to Crystal Palace in Premier League action this weekend, looking to get their form back on track against the high-flying Eagles. Roy Hodgson’s side have quietly climbed the table, and are a serious challenge.
Palace memorably beat City at the Etihad Stadium last season, with Pep Guardiola’s side winning the return leg in London.
Hodgson’s side have though won just one of their last eight Premier League meetings with the defending Premier League champions.
Palace are boosted by the return of captain Luka Milivojevic, following a one game ban, with the Serbian likely to replace either James McCarthy or Cheikhou Kouyate in midfield.
Guardiola is set to be boosted by some key returns of his own, with Kyle Walker, John Stones, Benjamin Mendy and Kevin De Bruyne all facing late fitness tests.
Crystal Palace vs. Manchester City Preview and Predictions
Palace’s form so far this season has been impressive, and a late win away at West Ham last time out puts them in the top six ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures.
Hodgson’s side have lost just one of their last seven games in all competitions, and they will be confident against the champions.
City suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at home to Wolves before the international break, leaving them trailing Liverpool by eight points in the title race. However, Guardiola will be demanding a response from his players, as they look to chase down Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Palace have performed well so far this season, but given what is potentially at stake in this clash, a City win – priced at 1.25 – looks the best option.
City were rocked by Wolves, and up against a tough Palace defence, they will not have it easy at Selhurst Park. With that in mind, City are at 4.00, to win but with under 2.5 total goals scored this weekend.
Manchester City to win 2-0 at 8.00
With Liverpool playing the following day, Guardiola will want to pile the pressure on them ahead of the trip to Old Trafford – and the best way to do that is with three points in South London.
Sergio Aguero to score anytime at 1.57
Aguero is currently the joint top scorer in the Premier League, alongside Tammy Abraham, with eight goals so far. Any game he plays in, he’s got to be fancied to score.
