Stamford Bridge – Premier League
Chelsea will be aiming to break into the Premier League top four as they play host to Newcastle this weekend. The Magpies, meanwhile, are eager to build on beating Manchester United.
Chelsea beat Newcastle home and away in Premier League action last season, with 2-1 wins at Stamford Bridge and St James’ Park.
The Magpies have won just one of their last seven league meetings with Chelsea, with no win in West London since 2012.
Frank Lampard’s injury concerns continue to grow, as midfielder N’Golo Kante suffered another injury while on international duty with France.
The former Leicester City man joins Andreas Christensen, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Antonio Rudiger and Mateo Kovacic on the sidelines.
Newcastle are still without midfielder Isaac Hayden, as he serves the second game of a three match ban.
Other than the former Arsenal youngster Steve Bruce has no new absentees, with Florian Lejeune and Matt Ritchie both still out.
Chelsea vs. Newcastle Preview and Predictions
Chelsea head into this game on the back of a run of four successive wins in all competitions, and just four defeats all season.
Lampard’s side will have an eye on moving back into the top four, with only goal difference keeping them behind Leicester City as it stands.
Newcastle continued their record of big results against top six teams before the international break, with a 1-0 home win over Manchester United.
However, this will be a completely different test for Bruce’s side, as opposed to beating out of sorts Tottenham and United sides.
Lampard’s side will be confident of having enough to pick up all three points, despite their injury issues, with a home win priced at 1.28.
The Blues have been amongst the goals in recent weeks, scoring in both halves in three of their last four games, and they are at 2.05 to do so again this weekend.
Chelsea to win 2-0 at 7.00
Lampard will want to keep the Chelsea momentum going as they head into a busy period of games, and despite Newcastle’s result against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, they are still struggling this season.
Tammy Abraham to score anytime at 1.66
Abraham has been the main man for Chelsea so far this season, with nine goals from nine games in all competitions – as well as two in his last two ahead of the weekend.
