Antonio Conte looks to extend his unbeaten start with Tottenham as they travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Sunday. The Clarets are without defeat in three themselves, but are 1.95 to lose to Spurs according to Spin Sports’ football betting online.

Past Meetings

A solitary goal from Lucas Moura ensured that Tottenham won at Turf Moor when the sides met in the League Cup back in October.

Team News

Sean Dyche is unlikely to make major changes to the side that drew at Crystal Palace last week, potentially fielding an identical XI for the third consecutive game. Ashley Barnes should have recovered to feature but will have to make do with a spot on the bench with Maxwell Cornet in fine form, while Aaron Lennon should return to the Burnley squad for Sunday’s fixture.

Antonio Conte is expected to rotate again following Thursday’s trip to Slovenia, meaning a full-strength line-up this weekend. Ryan Sessegnon returned at the weekend for Spurs but is unlikely to start over the impressive Sergio Reguilón. Oliver Skipp is eligible having missed the last game through suspension and is likely to take the place of Harry Winks at Turf Moor.

Burnley vs. Tottenham Preview and Predictions

Tottenham take on Burnley on Saturday hoping to continue their steady climb up the Premier League table. After a shocking start to the season, Sean Dyche’s side have finally found their feet and became only the second team this season to take points off Chelsea before the international break.

With confidence returned to Turf Moor, Sunday is arguably the worst time to face Burnley for Antonio Conte’s Spurs side. The new manager has quickly gone about establishing his notorious work ethic at Tottenham, who showed resilience to come back against Leeds last weekend, having fallen a goal behind. With Harry Kane well marked, the manager would have been pleased to see Sergio Reguilón and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg pop up with goals.

Across the Pennines in Lancashire this weekend, the former Chelsea boss may find his opponents even harder to break down should they fall behind again. Burnley were uncharacteristically poor in defence against Crystal Palace, conceding three goals, but did well to wrestle back to a draw having fallen behind twice.

For the first time since their return to the Premier League, the Clarets appear to have found themselves a prolific striker in Maxwell Cornet. The Ivory Coast forward has now notched five goals in six starts for Sean Dyche’s side, with his movement in behind sure to cause problems for the visitors on Sunday.

Ahead of the fixture at Turf Moor Spurs are clearly favourites, however if Burnley can combine their defensive resilience with their newfound goalscoring form, they could well inflict Conte’s first Tottenham defeat.
