Turf Moor – Premier League
High-flying Burnley take on champions Manchester City at Turf Moor in what is sure to be a cracker of a game between two sides full of confidence. The Clarets sit in 7th place, and have only lost twice at home this season, to league leaders Liverpool and Chelsea, and they’re coming off the back of consecutive 3-0 victories.
Burnley haven’t beaten the champions since a 1-0 in March 2015. The pair met three times in 2018/19, all won by the away side, including a 5-0 win at the Etihad stadium in October 2018.
The home side should have Ashley Westwood back in the squad after serving a suspension for collecting five yellow cards. Danny Drinkwater may play from the start. Johann Berg Gudmundsson may get soe minutes as a sub, having been off with a lengthy injury.
Man City will be without Sergio Aguero, who picked up an injury against Chelsea. Pep Guardiola will in all probablity play the same starting XI that featured against Newcastle at the weekend.
Burnley vs. Manchester City Preview and Predictions
Burnley will prove to be a tough test for Pep Guardiola’s men. They’re coming off the back of two consecutive 3-0 victories in the Premier League, and Turf Moor is always a hard place to go to at the best of times, let alone when confidence is soaring for Sean Dyche’s men. And yet the home side are out to 14.25 for the victory, with the visitors at 1.22 and the draw 6.35.
The champions know that can ill afford to have any more slip ups if they’re to catch runaway leaders Liverpool, who are cutting a relentless pace at the top of the table. This will be a tough encounter for both sides, however you expect the quality of Pep’s boys to eventually win out.
Both teams to score at 2.00
Burnley don’t struggle to score goals at home, scoring in every game except for the game against Liverpool earlier in the season. Expect both teams to score.
Over 3.5 goals at 2.25
Burnley score goals at home, Man City score goals everywhere they go, expect goals, and more goals. It is entirely possible that we will see over 3.5 goals in this game.
