Bayern Munich vs. Werder Bremen Predictions, Betting Tips and Previews
18 November 2020
Saturday 21 November
Allianz Arena - Bundesliga
Bayern Munich have hit their stride early this season and are looking to maintain their superb Bundesliga run against Werder Bremen this weekend. The visitors face an uphill struggle against a team they haven’t beaten in a very long time.
Bremen’s last victory over Bayern was all the way back in 2008. That was a resounding 5-2 victory in Munich, but Die Roten have won 24 of the 27 meetings between the clubs in league and cup since. Incredibly, that run includes victories for Bayern in each of the last 22 matches.
Joshua Kimmich is set to be out until late January after sustaining a ligament injury, while Corentin Tolisso and Alphonso Davies are both out of this game. Joshua Zirkzee, Nicolas Feldhahn and Malik Tillman are also set to miss out through injury and illness.
The visitors are waiting on the fitness of Davie Selke, while three players seem certain to miss this game. They are Milos Veljkovic, Ole Kauper and Niclas Fullkrug, although all three of that trio are expected to return before the end of November.
Bayern Munich vs. Werder Bremen Preview and Predictions
You’d be hard pressed to find a Bundesliga fixture dominated more by a single club than Bayern Munich’s vice-like hold over Werder Bremen. Die Roten have scored 76 goals and conceded only 14 during their 22-match wining streak against Die Werderaner, and that astonishing run looks set to continue this weekend.
Bayern were in great form before the international window, with the treble winners recording 10 straight victories and scoring 36 goals in the process. Hansi Flick’s side are looking bulletproof at the moment, with Robert Lewandowski arguably the best player on the planet right now after netting 12 goals in his seven games for Munich prior to the latest international break.
The Bavarians don’t always start the season in great form, but after losing their second Bundesliga fixture of the new season, they’ve been in top gear and sweeping aside all comers. The only chink in their armour would appear to be in defence, after conceding 16 goals in their last 11 games in all competitions.
Even so, Werder Bremen would have to come up with a spectacular performance to beat their hosts this weekend for the first time in 12 years. Die Grun-Weissen have only won two of their opening seven league games this term, and are out at a massive 17.00 to make it three here. Bayern are 1.13, while even the draw looks highly unlikely at 10.00.
Bayern Munich to win and over 3.5 goals at 1.57
With Bayern averaging 3.5 goals per game against Bremen over their last 22 meetings, and 3.6 in their 10 most recent fixtures this season, this bet could be a good way to enhance your odds on the home win.
Bayern Munich to win 4-0 at 11.00
Bayern have scored four or more goals against Werder in 11 of the last 25 meetings between the clubs, while Die Roten have only conceded an average of 0.6 per game against Bremen across those 25 matches.
